How we started

New Wave Films, founded by Syafi Halim and Wazif Zamri in July 2020, was born out of a shared vision to ignite a cultural and artistic movement within Brunei's film industry. With a mission to spark an art wave that challenges conventions and redefines local cinema, New Wave Films strives to offer a breath of fresh air through visually compelling and narratively authentic works. Each film we produce is driven by a commitment to innovative storytelling, distinctive visual aesthetics, and meaningful artistic expression—crafting experiences that resonate deeply with audiences both locally and beyond.

Our goal extends beyond just creating films; we aim to lay the foundation for a thriving and sustainable creative ecosystem.
